--Beast of Light Poem--

Beast of Light, you bring me hope.
You promise riches, the burden I tote.
Beast of Light, I come to you.
The things you promised, they never came through.

My friend, my slave, take my hand, lets shake.
Situations came up, it’s an honest mistake.
Come now, go back to work, your loyalty true.
I will double the things I promised you.

Beast of Light, how selfish of me.
I’ll go back to work and make you proud, you’ll see.
Beast of Light, Beast of Light, where are the promises,
They are nowhere in sight?

My friend, my slave, I simply forgot.
Trust me, keep working, I’ll give you a lot.

Yes sir my lord, I’m loyal and true.
How selfish I’ve been to question you.
My hands are callused, my back will soon break.
Where are my promises? Is this another mistake?
Beast of Light, your cloak made of fine wool.
Your castle so big with riches so full.
Labor of slaves, made you so rich.
But no promises, not even a stitch.

My friend, my slave, how foolish of you.
Work harder, work longer, I’ll pay you your due.
You will be rewarded, this I tell you no lies.
In fact, give me more and I’ll triple the prize.

My hair has grayed, eyes sunk in my skull.
Still no promises, am I a fool?
Beast of Light, the promises you broke.
Now it’s time to unveil your cloak.
I look upon him with my vary own eyes.
The Beast of Light, is the Beast of Lies.
